The Balance Method is a series of acupuncture systems rooted in the concept of healing the body by balancing meridians. This method has been developed by Dr. Richard Teh-Fu Tan from classical Chinese texts. The basis of the Balance Method relies on a two step process. First, determine which meridian should be needled according to the five systems. The five systems include the organ specification, yin and yang quality, anatomical location, Chinese clock positions, and hand and foot associations. Secondly, the mirroring and imaging formats assist in point selection along a chosen meridian. Among the many types of pain treated successfully by the Balance Method are migraine headaches, fibromyalgia, sciatica, musculoskeletal pain, numbness, tingling, burning, and aching pain. Also, internal conditions such as nausea, asthma, edema, irritable bowel syndrome, insomnia, palpitations, sore throat, cough, diarrhea, PMS, menopause, and skin conditions. The Balance Method results in a rapid shift of the body into a state of equilibrium. Most imbalances are relieved within ten to twelve treatments with two to three treatments per week.
